Media Regarding the Green Revolution and Other News

It has nothing to do with the environment or climate of course, that is unless you're talking about political climate. Green is the colour of the official opposition and can be seen clearly in many of the videos that have managed to escape the statewide ban on media and the throttling of Internet access in the country.
Although there won't be an article today, here are a couple of links to some videos relevant to the Green Revolution:
You know a movement is catching attention when the Muppets get involved! Speaking of movements, some of you may have heard about Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao's hunger strike in India. Mr. KCR as he is sometimes called for the formation of a new state within India comprising of a particularly poor area of the country. The call for this state has been ignored for almost 50 years, but Mr. KCR's efforts, which have led to health problems, pushed the government into agreeing. Read the full story on the BBC's website. The parallels between KCR, who is now being called the Tiger of Telangana, and Mahatma Gandhi are unquestionable and it's great to see that Gandhi's legacy lives on in his country.
Also in the news today, Jack Layton, leader of the NDP calls for the government to open an enquiry into the allegations that Canadian soldiers turned over prisoners of war to Afghan officials resulting in the torture of the prisoners. He provides the compelling argument that if Canada won't do it, it's likely the world will start asking questions and do it for us, which could lead to an embarrassing situation.
